Most Popular Free Educational Apps for iPad

Educational software has often been associated with kids’ CD-ROMs that dress up learning as being fun. Thankfully those days are now long gone and there are lots of engaging ways of expanding your mind using your iPad. The first one we will be taking a look at is the TED app. TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) is a non-profit organisation that has offered free online talks since 2006. The talks cover subjects such as technology, art, science, medicine and more.

The iPad app enables you to view these talks on your tablet. iTunes U allows you to download courses and lectures on various academic subjects and store them in one easy-tomanage location. There is a wealth of information available covering a huge range of subjects and fields. Finally we will take a look at the mobile app version of one of the most popular websites in the world – Wikipedia. It includes everything you’d expect from a Wikipedia app, including a Nearby feature that enables you to read articles on local landmarks. Hopefully, these apps will highlight the power of your iPad as more than just an email and internet browser.
