Emergency Alert App for iPad

This app’s main function is to send an alert or message to a friend or family member should you need it in an emergency. The app itself, once set up, is astonishingly simple – there are only two options on the screen. The first is the big, red SOS button in the middle of the screen, and the other is a menu button that sits in the bottom-right corner.

You’ll need to register for a free account with FollowMee, and add the email address and phone number of a friend, but once you’ve done that, simply hit the SOS button and a message will be sent to those people sharing your location. The iPad version also enables you to make voice calls, but this requires a separate paid account. It’s great for when you don’t have a phone on you in an emergency.
